Polyurethane Encapsulated Full Stage Pocket Back Box with AC Isolation Bracket
Combining Polyurethane encapsulation and A/C Isolation along with multiple box depth options, these ACE Back Boxes can solve many installation challenges in one swoop.
Polyurethane encapsulated back boxes are available to provide extra protection from incursion of moisture and water by sealing seams, knock-outs, and holes. Using our standard double zinc plated back boxes (BBX), a 1/16" thick jacket of polyurethane is applied to the exterior sides and bottom of the back boxes, permanently bonding with surfaces to form a moisture resistant seal. The polyurethane back box provides protection against harsh climate, chemicals, impact and abrasion. All polyurethane back boxes will have a model number suffix of "W".
The Isolation Bracket sits tightly beneath the pocket, inside the back box, to maintain secure separation of high and low voltage, ensuring manual isolation. Insulated back boxes save the installer time and hassle in the finish-stage. High voltage conduit can enter the back box through combination knockouts on one side of the back box and low voltage through the opposite side.
Standard Stage Pocket body assemblies are 4.5" deep while the Standard Back Box is 6" deep, providing 1.5" work clearance in the bottom of the Back Boxes, making them ideal for feed thru or distribution junctions. Applications requiring more depth under the pocket body can be accommodated with extended depth back boxes, offering up to 7.5" work clearance.

MOISTURE PROTECTION:
ACE polyurethane encapsulated back boxes are made from our standard double zinc plated back boxes (BBX). A 1/16" thick jacket of polyurethane is applied to the exterior sides and bottom of the Back Boxes. The polyurethane encapsulates and permanently bonds with the back box surfaces providing protection against the harsh climate, chemicals, accidental impacts, and abrasions.
CLEARANCE VOLUME:
Standard Stage Pocket body assemblies are 4.5" deep while the Back Box is 6" deep providing 1.5" work clearance in the bottom of the Back Boxes, making them ideal for feed thru or distribution junctions. Clearance volumes for individual Pocket/Back Box assemblies are as follows:
• #102BBXW Back Box with Full Pocket Clearance volume: 144 Cubic Inches
• #103BBXW Back Box with Half Pocket Clearance volume: 92 Cubic Inches
• #104BBXW Back Box with Double Wide Pocket Clearance volume: 260 Cubic Inches
DURABLE CONSTRUCTION:
ACE polyurethane encapsulated Back Boxes (#BBXW) are made from tough, welded 14 gauge steel (.071" thick).
EASY INSTALLATION:
ACE polyurethane encapsulated Back Boxes are easily installed into the floor or stage in a few steps. First make the cutout in the floor/stage. Second, securely brace the Back Box into the floor and be sure to provide support equal to the floor loading requirements, accounting for any height offset required for the finished floor. Third, attach any standard electrical conduit to the back box on any side via the combination knock outs. Fourth, secure Stage Pocket to Back Box using mating screw holes provided on the Stage Pocket flange and the Back Box flange.
DURABLE FINISH:
ACE Back Boxes have a clear zinc corrosion resistant finish (before applying the Polyurethane Encapsulation).
ELECTRICAL KNOCKOUTS:
ACE polyurethane encapsulated Back Boxes come with standard Electrical Conduit Combination Knockouts. 1/2", 3/4", 1", and 1-1/4" Knock Outs 2 places typical on opposing sides. 1/2" and 3/4" Knock Outs 1 place typical on opposing sides.
PROTECTIVE COVER:
Included with the polyurethane encapsulated Back Box(es) is a protective cover with a clear zinc corrosion resistant finish. This cover maintains a clean Back Box until the pocket is finally installed. The protective cover may be discarded after the pocket has been installed.
